More Ducks in the Palace, sunshine in Melbourne Town and creativity in the air. You? As for the Blessed Beings (Nutters), a few have recently returned from Adventures. Titch has been to the Melbourne Cup, Albert has been all over the place, Rascal drove a forklift and Sparkle has been in a recording studio! Big thanks to all those who are adopting these furry friends and spreading the smiles!

2008 - October...
Have been back in the Studio quite a bit lately, painting and printing. Four of my paintings were part of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College 111 Jasper Road Bentleigh VIC 3204 Art Exhibition on the weekend of 17-19th October 2008.
A limited number of dragonfly T-Shirts are now available for sale! Finally, I hear you say!!!
The Blessed Beings (Nutters) are in full swing! I've created fluffy friends, each with their own distinct personality. A number are available for little adventures and they are coming and going all the time, adding smiles to our world.

2008 - June...
I know, I know...things have been a little quiet here lately. Perhaps the chill of Melbourne winter :-)? Have completed more behind the scenes site maintenance and all being well you won't notice many changes. Regardless, your feedback is always appreciated. There have been a few alterations and additions to our Links page and yet more arrivals in Duck Palace for which I am always truly grateful!
Here's a recent article about my 5 year old friend, Sam Valavanis. http://www.frankstonleader.com.au/article/2008/06/16/37022_fsv_news.html
Also, did you know that the crane at the new Royal Children's Hospital site is named Alexander after one of the hospital's 3 year old patients? :-)

2008 - April...
A long while between updates! I've been away on a little adventure (with creative supplies but without technology) for part of this month. Some new drawings have appeared in my sketchbook after rediscovering coloured pencils, but they are far from finished and certainly not fit for publishing...yet! Also, if anyone is interested in viewing some ceramics that I have decided to sell (from my personal collection) please let me know. Thanks!

2008 - March...
Have been back in the studio with new creations and completing some orders. The rain arrived in Melbourne this week and there are no leaks in my studio! BIG THANKS DAVO!!! It's a little tricky checking for leaks without a heavy downpour... Also, imagine my delight when I returned to my car after a recent shopping expedition... a van with my TTE logo parked nearby! OK, I know, easily impressed... :-)

2008 - March - Artz Blitz
The 2008 theme? "Free". A 3 year old friend and I both entered the competition together this year. It's lots of fun painting with someone else. And rather than paint like crazy for almost 24 hours straight, I decided to take it a lot easier this year. No need for the red cordial when I have a good night sleep! Am looking forward to seeing the exhibition over the next week or so.

2008 - February - KAN Artsfest
A few hardy KAN members braved the windy weather at the most recent Artsfest. The displays were minimal due to the gusty conditions, however the artists and writers were as enthusiastic as ever. Bopping along to Mojo helped us keep warm!

2008 - Lost In (Cyber) Space...
Yeah! We're back!!! Due to some external technical challenges, this site recently disappeared for a little while. Hope this didn't cause any inconvenience and if so I'd like to thank you for your patience and understanding during our romp in cyberspace.
It is possible that there may still be a few missing pictures or broken links, so if you find any, I'd appreciate you letting me know so they can be fixed as soon as possible. Unfortunately it is likely that any emails sent to us from approx 7th - 14th February 2008 also have vanished into the ether...hmmm, sorry. Most importantly, thanks to those whose support was invaluable during our romp. We're glad to be back!
A little Reminder - Next KAN Artsfest Saturday 23rd February 2008 - just scroll down for further info...

2008 - January...
A few personal thoughts...
Each year I aim to be happier and healthier than the year before, to continue to follow my instincts, to add a little joy to our world and to leave things at least a little better than the way I found them, always remembering to be grateful for all the wonderful blessings in our lives. Resolutions or just a positive way to live?
This year in particular I'm going to try to do one little thing each day to enhance my wellbeing and that of those around me. By each doing a tiny bit our world has to become a happier, healthier place for all. Happy Journeying!
A Little Note: Sometimes the big ideas are hard to stick to, so I find that travelling through a list of little challenges is easier to tackle than a big mountain! Needing inspiration? Visit Quotes + Affirmations...

They can be viewed via this link - just scroll to the bottom of the page when you get there. Also, check out the sets, a much more affordable way to purchase...
I'd like to take this opportunity to let you know about some other things that may interest you:
KAN (Kingston Arts Network) Artsfest is on again! Join KAN artists at an Outdoor Exhibition and Art Sale on Saturday 1st December from 10am at Hazel Pierce Reserve on the banks of Mordialloc Creek. (Unfortunately I'm unable to attend this one, but the other creative souls would love to see you).
Julie of "A for Attitude" is launching her new book "R for Richlife" at Red Hill Market this Saturday 1st December 2007. All Julie's other books are fantastic and I can't wait to get my hands on this one.
Darren of "The Auslan Company" has recently produced an "Auslan for Children DVD", which features an introduction to over 350 Auslan signs for families and professionals. I'm sure this will help me brush up on my Auslan skills.
Congratulations, Julie and Darren! Wishing you all the best! p.s. check back soon, SALE coming!

2007 - September - Christmas Card Pre-Orders
Each year I produce one Christmas Card design, with cards anticipated to be available for distribution around the beginning of November 2007.
Now here's the fun bit. Orders are placed, paid for and then delivered, without anyone (except myself and the printer), seeing the design of the card! Minimum orders are packs of 10 cards for $30.00 or packs of 100 cards for $275.00.
I know this isn't for everyone, so if you are the type of person who would like to see what you're ordering, perhaps a mixed pack is for you. Some samples of previous Christmas Cards are below and are available in mixed packs of 10 cards for $30-00 and this years design will be included as part of the mixed pack from 2008.

2007 - August...
For those who care, (yes, a few of you have asked), I've finally finished reading "The Biology Of Belief" by Bruce Lipton...AWESOME! Quite challenging to explain here, so you'll just have to read that one for yourselves. On the more artistic side of things, I am in the process of finalising a number of recent commissions, deciding which design will be chosen for my Christmas Card 2007, developing more ideas for this site and yes, still sorting out my Studio... Also, a few new "Ready To Hang" paintings are now available...

One of the major events at the festival had approx 900 young people descend upon the Kingston City Hall to attend and take part in the day. As representatives of KAN (Kingston Arts Network), Mandy and I, armed only with blank canvasses, brushes, sponges, enthusiasm (and coffee), encouraged participants to have fun with creativity rather than taking art too seriously. View some pics here... A number of the finished paintings are on display at Kingston Art Centre Gallery until 22nd May 2007.

2007 - April - Sam Valavanis - Beyond Sight Family Fun Day
An inspirational 4 year old friend of mine, Sam Valavanis has retinoblastoma (a cancer which attacks the eyes) and in the near future Sam's only remaining eye must be removed to save his life. I have known Sam since he was born and have personally witnessed what this family has been through.
Lisa, Sam's mum, has planned a family fun day fundraiser to be held on April 21st 2007 at Patterson Lakes Primary School from 10am - 4pm to raise money for a Beyond Sight (a Royal Children's Hospital auxiliary and support group for parents of children with retinoblastoma). Let's help Sam have wonderful memories of this special day. Like to know more? Some recent articles about Sam and the Family Fun Day can be accessed via the photo links to the left.
Thanks for taking the time to read this information, I am grateful to know this family who are striving each day to make the best of this difficult situation and are using their adversity to help others. For more info, please visit http://www.beyondsight.com.au/
