2009 - December...
Welcome to the Festive Season!
The JOCF at Mentone RSL last
month saw a large number of KAN Members gather to show their stuff.
From visual artists to choirs, basket makers to sculptors, writers
to photographers, the day had something for everyone.
Unfortunately it was a rather rainy day, but fortunately we were
gathered indoors rather than on the banks of the Mordialloc Creek.
Thanks to those of you I saw on the day and for those that bought
paintings or cards, I hope they're bringing you much joy. Extra
special thanks to those who helped on the day, in particular, the
wonderful Lampshade. Photos of the day are available on the
KAN website:
http://www.kan.org.au/photos_2009_JOCF.htm

I was involved in a Kinder
Arts Exhibition the next weekend and it was such a delight to share the
exhibition with approx 75 preschoolers and some other grown up artists.
And to the new Sammy Nuttall Art Owners from that day, I hope you're
still smiling and I'm looking forward to more pics for the New Owners
Gallery.

And further to the site tweaks,
a new page has been added.
Feedback
is in it's infancy and
contains a small number of the lovely messages I receive. I'm just
hoping I can find the old Christmas Cards I received from the Quackers
living in England so I can add them too!

2009 - Late November...
Well for those frequent
visitors to this site, you'll notice that we're undergoing some major
renovations! What started as a little spring clean has turned into
a bit of an overhaul. I'd appreciate you having a look around and
letting me know if all the rooms are in order. On the bottom of
each page you'll now notice a "Share This" link which will enable to
share this site with others more easily.
With December 'round the
corner and another Arts Festival (at the local kinder) this weekend, my
update on the KAN Joy Of Creativity Festival will have to wait 'til
my next chat with you.

2009 - November...
Quack Quack! For those
playing at home, you should know what that means...yep, more ducks in
the
Palace. A couple were lovely gifts from
unexpected sources, which is always a joy. Thank you! And
the cute Duck Ear Buds were a treat that I gave myself...how could I
leave them behind? If you visit
Smiley Photos,
you'll find new additions there too.
Have been busy preparing for the
KAN Joy Of Creativity
Festival, presented an evening about the KAN Website and Blog to
members, received some extra special feedback and have even managed to
play with feathers, glitter and superglue in the Studio. Probably
best you don't ask!
My blog is still chugging along
http://sammynuttall.blogspot.com/
and it has something extra that you won't
find on my website...a little video just to brighten your day. Would love
to hear what you think? I also have a brand new Fan Page on
facebook.
To find me there,
just click on the link below or on the bottom of my blog. Just a few
different ways to share what I love doing so much!

2009 - More October!
Elliott has been hanging around the
Whitsundays...lucky Nutter! If you look really carefully you may
be able to see him in the picture with The Big Mango. I happened
to be able to join Elliott on this adventure and managed a little bit of
drawing whilst poolside.
Preparations are in full swing
for the
KAN Joy Of Creativity
Festival to be held at Mentone RSL on 22nd November 2009.
Would love to see you there. Please visit the KAN website for full
details, mark it in your diary and tell your friends.
A couple of nights ago I bumped into a man that bought some of my art
many years back. He told me how much joy it had bought to him and
in particular his grand daughter, Sahara. Thanks for the feedback,
Barry...it makes it all worthwhile.

2009 - October...
To
Blog or not to Blog? That is the question! I've been
investigating new technology, shopping carts, rss feeds, share this,
blogs, paypal and all sorts of other options for this page lately (in my
spare time of course...ha ha)! Over time I hope to implement some
changes, but I want them to be easy for both you and me, and cost
effective as well. That's why I still don't accept credit cards
here yet.
To
make it easier to follow this news page, this info can now also be
accessed via a little blog...
http://sammynuttall.blogspot.com/
KAN diary can be followed at
http://kingstonartsnetwork.blogspot.com/ and
the KAN website at
http://www.kan.org.au/
Would love to hear what you think.

2009 - September...
Bob is home safe and sound.
You can see pictures of him at the launch of
"Coincidence or
something else?"
by Julie Davey and Julie Davey
(no, that's not a typo) by clicking on the picture of Bob with Julie#1 to the left.
Happy recently
attended a fundraiser for
Friends Of
Manatuto and
Titch attended the AFL Grand Final
at the MCG with over 99,000 friends and had a terrific day although the
result was not really to his liking.
Due to an upcoming project, I
have called all the wandering
Nutters home. Really hope
they're listening...sometimes they stray for a bit too long.
Yet again, thanks to all who have sent
Ducks to the
Palace, what fun!
Been busy preparing for the
KAN Joy Of Creativity
Festival on the 22nd of November at Mentone RSL. Hope to see
you there, it's a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping and
support local artists at the same time.
p.s.
SSSHHHHH!!! Here's a sneak peak of the
KAN website still in test phase...(I've been busy)...

2009 - August...
August brings a very special welcome to our newest Nutter. I'd
like to officially introduce you to AuCaDo Samuel Nutter (aka Sammy A
Nutter).
Sammy was created for a
very important job. He is to be a symbol of rescue of Australian
Cattle Dogs (AuCaDo) worldwide and a huge part of
AuCaDo and their
forums.
Click on an image of Sammy for a little more info. Perhaps you are interested in helping to raise funds to
rescue Australian Cattle Dogs but are not an AuCaDo Forum Member?
Don't worry, you can assist by purchasing cards or prints of Sammy A
Nutter at
http://www.deviantart.com/print/9469776/?itemtypeids= and of course all proceeds from
the sale of this will go to the
AuCaDo Rescue Fund to help Australian Cattle Dogs in need.
I am personally grateful
for the opportunity to assist with raising money and awareness of this
important cause. Sammy A Nutter was made with much time, love and
effort, and I know he'll bring joy to many, as he did before he left on
his journey to AuCaDo...

2009 - June, July...
It's been too long, hasn't it?
There are a few new Ducks in the
Palace.
The
Nutters
have slowed
down their travels a bit. Perhaps the chill in Melbourne?
Do I say this every winter? Regardless of the weather and lack of
new art here, I have been keeping REALLY busy. KAN is undergoing a
design phase for their new website, which I am quite involved with.
It's a big job, however it will be such a joy to be able to assist this
great organisation in having a happy little homepage for you to visit!
I've also been helping out with the "Art In The Community" program
whilst Glenda is having a well earned break.
 |
2009 - May...
As
part of KAN, I've been invited to display some paintings at MORDIGRAS
09. Some of the paintings on display haven't even made it onto
this site yet! Paintings will remain on display at Mordialloc Community
Centre, 115 Warren Road, Mordialloc for about three weeks and all are
for sale.
 |
2009 - March, April...
Hello! Welcome!
Have recently completed a logo for a new local business "Happy Little
Tummies". They specialise in terrific Birthday Cakes and Cup Cakes
made from all natural ingredients. Fortunately I've had the
opportunity to "research" these products personally and can recommend
them for tummies of all sizes...visit
www.happylittletummies.com.au for more info.
I have also been creating a little friend as a mascot for some special
people involved in rescuing Australian Cattle Dogs. He's now
getting to know his new owners, but stay tuned, he'll
be featured here soon...
BIG THANKS to those who continue to send Quackers my way!
The
Palace
wouldn't be the same without you all and finally, there have been updates to
Titch,
Bubba Happy,
Elliott
and
Mulberry Nutter.

2009 - February...
Feb
already? Have been rather busy with some little commissions of
late, not to mention trying to get in to a New Year routine!
Thank you to all the Nutters caretakers - more pics should be loaded
soon.
As
part of the Kingston Summer Series, the KAN
ArtsFest will be held on Saturday 21 February, 3:30pm, Hazel Pierce
Reserve, Cnr Beach Rd & Nepean Hwy, Mordialloc. It's a rare
opportunity to meet creative people from the Kingston Arts Network. With
exhibits to inspire and beautiful works of art to admire and purchase.
Stroll in the park – meet the artists and support creativity in our
community.
Although I won't be having my usual stall this year, I will be in
attendance for a while promoting KAN. Come and say hello!
In
conjunction, bring a picnic and enjoy the the
Big Band Sunsets from 3pm – 9pm Enquiries:
